Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Dodge Charger

Clayton: Hey guys, how's it going Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today, we'll be taking a look at, and I'll show you how to install a CURT class three trailer hitch on a 2019 Dodge Charger. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. As you can see it still retains a good look under the vehicle, the cross tube, you can see just a touch of it, but most of it's concealed under the bumper, still giving a good sharp look to the vehicle. This hitch is going to be great for bike racks, cargo carriers, and pulling a small trailer. Cargo racks are great because you can put your cargo behind the vehicle and leave more room for your passengers, and bike racks are even better because you don't have to try to cram the bike into the trunk or load it on the roof. more

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Dodge Charger

Clayton: Hey guys, how's it going Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today I have a 2019 Dodge Charger and I'll be walking you through how to install a Draw-Tite class 3 trailer hitch. This is what your hitch is going to look like installed, as you can see, the cross tube is still visible, but it will retain that nice factory look because it is tucked up underneath the vehicle. This hitch does have a 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, this is important because it will play well with most hitch mount accessories, such as bike racks, cargo carriers, and ball mounts. Having the ability to use a cargo carrier or a bike rack is great because it gets all of your stuff outside of your car without being in the vehicle, cramping up their passengers. So you can load your cargo on the cargo rack or your bikes on your bike rack instead of having to cram them in the trunk, backseat or sticking them on the roof. This hitch is a class 3 hitch, and it does have a 5,8" hitch pin hole, the pin and clip are not included with this hitch, but you can find them here at etrailer.com. more

We have got two points we need to lower: one here, and one in the back. Now, we can simply unbolt those from the frame and it will come down. And we will do that on both sides. And also, for added safety, and to keep the stress down on the exhaust, we added this safety strap here. And one other point we need to disconnect will be right here, that is going to be right in front of the converter here. And basically we are going to just take this off and let the exhaust fall down as much as possible, limited by the strap, of course. And that will give us plenty of working room. Now we will take down this side of the exhaust. All right, and now we will do the passengers side. more
